<description>I have an excel file that i am trying to import into SPSS MAC 15. The data are coming in but several of the variables in the excel file that are text/string show up in SPSS as . or missing. i have changed the SPSS system file to reflect these data as string and have changed the excel file variables from General to text in hopes of capturing the original string/text data but neither is working. This cannot be that hard but i seem to be succeeding in making it so.

Help!</description>
